Condolences on the death of Earl Samuel Poysti

Dear friends in North America!
We have been informed on the passing of Earl Samuel Poysti – whom we in Russia got to know and love as Yarl Nikolaiyevich Peisti. What a witness! An American citizen of Swedish-Finnish-Russian background, who blessed many thousands of Russian-speakers via the airways beginning 64 years ago. Though his family and he himself had suffered greatly at the hands of the communists, Yarl never forgot the people in his country of birth and committed his life to serving and witnessing to them. Not only he, but also his father and his own children have been very active in the spreading of God’s Word. Also his mother and two wives dare not to be forgotten for their service in the ministry of Christ!
But he was much more than “just” a radio preacher on “Russian Christian Radio” and many other stations. The Dom Pirkko rehabilitation centers created in the Former Soviet Union after 1990 have proven to be a great blessing to prisoners, former prisoners and others!
Yarl Nikolaiyevich has passed on to his Maker – but may God bless the continuation and growth of the ministries which he was able to help create!
We Russian Baptists greet Yarl’s family and friends heartily with the promise from ICortinthians 15:22 for which all of us live and die: “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
Your brother in Christ,
Rev. Yuri Sipko
President, Russian Union of Evangelical Christians-Baptists
