Bike trip – July 24 – Kuitun village

Kuitun is a small village in Irkutsk region. We arrived there at 10 sharp. We were not afraid of the lack of roads. It became usual for us. But today we encountered rather new fact for us - «high» dust. I advise you, who does not know about this phenomenon, to visit Irkutsk region and wheel there or walk there along 190 km from Nizhnevartovsk to Kuitun. You will remember this experience forever. I have never met such a dust before. Bikers were first and were swallowed by clouds of dust. We followed them. Dust is everywhere. We need cleansing. Christians in Kuitun were waiting for us. They prepared lunch and sauna for us. I will remind my readers that we were moving along a Federal highway М53 to Irkutsk – a little bit more than 500 km.

ECB church in Kuitun was inviting villagers during two weeks to the gymnasium for the meeting with the Expedition. The meeting was planned for 19.00 p.m. Arriving there an hour before the event to prepare sound equipment we were happy to see already about 50 persons. At about 19:00 there were already over 450 people. The meeting lasted for 90 minutes. Villagers listened to Good News with special attention. Practically no one left the meeting earlier. Many young people and kids attended. When basic event was held for adults, kids actively took part in games and competitions, which our children’s missionaries offered them. Pens with the sign of the Mission «Light in the East» were given to kids as prizes. But the most talented kids received a yearly subscription to the children’s magazine «Path».

David Dzhioev, a coach of a local football team, appeared to come from the same place as we. He is an Osetian man, but has been living here in Kuitun for 25 years. At 20.00 on the request of local population there took place a control football match at the central stadium of Kuitun village.  Students of David Dzhioev from the team «Kuitun» played with the picket team of the Transcontinental bike Expedition - «Bike 2007». We lost but with the minimal score 2:1. The lost did not bring us to depression. Our bikers told local football players about sacrificial deed of Jesus Christ.
