Russians love to attend classical music concerts, and this one was special including the talents of Organ soloist, and winner of international competetions, Constantine Volostnov, and director of the Moscow Chamber Symphony Orchestra, Vyacheslav Valeev.
The first half of the program was given to the works of:
I.S. Bach - Prelude and Fugue in E Flat Major and Three Chorales
V. Karatygin - Prelude and Fugue
R. Schumann - Three Fugues in the Name of B-A-C-H (Bach)
While the orchestra was setting up, Golgotha Pastor Sergey Belov spoke a few words of hope in Christ, as he referenced 1 Thess. 5:18: “Give thanks in all circumstances: for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”
The second half of the concert, the orchestra joined the performance, performing a work for organ and orchestra (in 3 parts) by Italian composer M.E. Bossi.
The enthusiastic crowd watched the virtuoso combination of organ and the symphony orchestra, did not want the evening to end, continuing to applaud, showing their gratitude and joy. It was a true blessing for such talent to give their time to prepare such a masterful concert of such quality for visitors to enjoy. It was equally matched by the excellent hospitality of Golgotha Church.
At the end of the evening, Director Valeev noted the high quality of the room acoustics, and said he hopes it is not the last performance of his orchestra in this place.
The next concert of organ music will take place on October 20, 2019. Praise God for these great opportunities to be light to our community!
