During his visit, Mitskevich attended with the leadership of the Armenian UECB, and helped established the Armenian Theological Seminary of the UECB, where he met with the students and the director. The brothers from Armenia thanked the Lord and expressed satisfaction with the healthy partnership with everyone in the Baptist Euro-Asian Federation brotherhood.
Armenia is currently going through a difficult period of recovery after the war with Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020-21. It is well understood here what Ukraine is going through today. During the meetings, joint prayers for mutual peace were heard more than once.
There are Armenian UECB churches in the Russian territory, where services are held in Armenian, which brings the union of churches and two countries closer.
A special blessing was in the meeting of the ministers in the church of Nardos, where Mitskevich preached 23 years ago. This time, Peter delivered a sermon on John 14 and 15. He reminded everyone that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter, that we must trust in Jesus and be ready to meet Him. The participants of the meeting prayed for the gospel and for peace in Armenia, Russia, Ukraine and all over the world.
Mitskevich also met with the leadership of the Armenian Bible Society, which was attended by the Secretary General , Archbishop Petrosyan, and the Secretary General of the Armenian Baptist Union Asatur Nahapetyan. ABS employees, are actively working to spread the Word of God to all the inhabitants of Armenia. Today, the Armenian Bible Society is conducting dozens of Bible projects to serve children, the disabled, the sick and the military… For example, a Bible for autistic children was recently published, and a special program has been developed for soldiers to help get free from post-traumatic stress syndrome.
The purpose of the trip was to develop greater relations between the Baptist Unions of Russia and Armenia, and was successfully achieved, as was communication, encouragement, and mutual prayer. Praise the Lord!
