Outdoor Christian Music Festival

On August 27, 2022, more than 600 people came to glorify the Lord in an open area near Khimki church in Moscow’s suburb.

I will exalt you, my God, my King, and bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You and praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and praiseworthy, and His greatness is unsearchable. (Psalm 144:1-3)

This is the first such festival organized by Free Radio ( www.svobodnoe.fm ) in cooperation with RussiaWorship ministry, the “Sails on the Bay Project” and Brightway, a Charity Foundation. Contemporary Christian music was presented by groups from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kazan: Russia Worship Band, Keystone (Kazan), State of Soul, Church of the Good News, Olga Rybalka, Olya Gasilova and GM Band, Tochka Opory and Nikolai Tarasov and many more.

Guests of the Festival - anyone who wanted to come, passersby and invited believers in Jesus Christ united in the spirit of joy, worship, glorification of our one God.

“Entrance to the festival was free. When registering, we did not focus on the affiliation of those wishing to come to the Festival to any church. And today we saw so many beautiful faces from babies to people of respectable age! The Lord unites us all. Our large family received incomparable joy in glorifying God, fellowship, getting to know each other, enjoying barbecue and coffee and tea, and for those who first crossed the threshold of the church - the opportunity to become closer to Christians, and we hope, to Jesus Christ himself,” said Dmitry Vatulya, editor-in-chief of Free Radio.

“Our principle: first, informal communication, and only then - evangelism. The movement of the soul to God begins with friendly fellowship with Christians,” Dmitry Revyakin added. He provided voluntary assistance in organizing the event.

“I came here to talk, to see my friends, to feel like a part of something bigger than just my church. To see how blessed other Christians are, to rejoice for them. Music? Of course that too!”  shared Ksenia Skiba, the church "Ark", Balashikha.

Spectators sat on benches, deck chairs, chairs, pear chairs, just on the grass. Someone could sit in the church, the kids were comfortable on the playground. And through the air reigned the sounds of praise, the greatest recognition of the triumph of our Lord, who alone is great and worthy of praise.

This music reverberated around the neighborhood of Khimki, spilling over to the embankment, attracting the townspeople walking nearby. I really want to believe that the hands raised to Heaven on this day will touch the hearts of many - this is how Our Father works. When we glorify the Creator, an ordinary miracle happens - we become closer to each other, better, purer, nobler, and we invite others to know that same fellowship with the Father. Glory to the Lord for this special day and for those who organized this unforgettable celebration.

Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.

Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.

Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,

praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,

praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. (Psalm 150)
