The slogan of the congress was the words: “You know the time,” and the selected Bible text is Romans 13:11-14. “Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.”
The Russian UECB President Peter Mitskevich represented the Russian branch of Baptists. He greeted them from the churches in Russia and that the Baptist churches pray for God’s peace between brothers and between nations. He called to pray for spiritual awakening in our countries.
In addition to the greetings from guests of various Baptist Unions, four sermons on Romans 13.11-14, were delivered, in which the 598 delegates and 46 guests received:
THE QUESTION OF RELATIONSHIPS between the Russian and Ukrainian Baptists has been a positive dynamic to the congress. Many Ukrainian ministers personally reached out and asked to relay heartfelt greetings to the brothers in Russia.
Dear brothers! We ask you to continue to pray for the UNITY of the churches of our brotherhood, for support of the Russian UECB, and also to pray for peace among the nations.
