Russia has established warm and good neighborly relations with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, which are strengthening every year. During this trip, UECB leaders visited many historical places. In Uzbekistan, excursions to Tashkent and one of the oldest cities in the world – Samarkand were visited.
We got acquainted with the history of the Uzbek people, their culture and way of life. Daily meetings were held with the ministers of local churches of the Baptist Union. There are now more than a thousand believers who are members of 22 UECB churches in Uzbekistan. The arrival of guests from Russia was a great encouragement for the local Christians there.
In Kazakhstan, members of the Russian UECB leadership team visited Almaty, where they held fellowship meetings with the leadership of the Kazak Baptist Union, with trips to local churches in this big city to see other believers.
During each of the meetings, we prayed for God’s blessing on the ministry and churches in Central Asia and their gospel presence, and for Christ to build His church.
