Presidential Appeal - Peter Mitskevich

On behalf of the Russian fraternity of Baptist churches (UECB), Easter greetings to YOU! The news of the resurrection of our Lord gives us joy and hope, despite what is happening all around.

Dear brothers and sisters, may you be comforted by the love of Jesus. Christ is risen! Christ is truly risen!

  1. We have been faced with a difficult time of isolation, as churches have not been able to gather in prayer houses due to the situation with the coronovirus. But we can read God's Word, pray in our families, communicate by telephone and through other means of communication.

Most church members began to actively use the Internet. But we need to stay alert in order to devote time to what is really important, to value every minute, to seek God, to follow the Lord’s path of sanctification for us. There is much conflicting information on the Internet, and we need to develop the wisdom and discipline of prayer and wise evangelism when we enter this vast world of social networks, the Internet and other media.

The apostle Peter reminds us: “Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “you shall be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Pet.1:13-16).

  1. On the Russian UECB website, we began to collect links to web pages of churches that put services on the internet, and we would like to put all the sites of churches, as well as all the addresses of UECB churches.  Please send links to your web pages, email and the addresses of your churches. I pray that every Russian will hear the words of God’s glorious gospel.

Please send this information to the Secretary of the UECB - info@rusbaptist.com

If you do not have a church web page and would like to create it, then the UECB media team and youth ministry will be able to help you.

  1. I’M CALLING YOU TO PRAY that the Lord will have mercy and grant repentance to all men who still do not know Him. We continue to pray for those who are struggling with the epidemic, for the sick and suffering. We will continue to CONSOLE those who have lost loved ones. Pray for your churches, for the entire Russian brotherhood of faith. We really need your prayer and partnership. If you have a desire to support the Russian UECB financially, this can be done through our website.

On behalf of the leadership and churches of the Russian Baptist Union,

In prayer for you,

Pastor Peter Mitzkevich, Russian UECB President
