Sunday School Teacher’s Conference in Kaluga Region

On February 27, 2021, a conference for teachers of the Kaluga Region Sunday School was held in the city of Obninsk.

The conference was prepared by members of the Union of Children/Teenage Ministry. About 30 aspiring and experienced Sunday School teachers with youth group leaders came together for fellowship, edification, and training.

The following topics were proposed in the conference program: lesson preparation methodology, strategies for healthy discipline, discussions in teenage ministry, teaching techniques used by Jesus, non-standard teaching methods, childhood development and learning characteristics for each age group, the role and tasks of the Sunday School teacher. Each participant could choose which lectures and round tables to attend. In addition, two demonstration lessons were prepared for children of different ages for everyone to see these things in action.

The ministers of the Kaluga region not only listened to lectures, but also actively participated in all round tables, shared their experiences and opinions.

The goal of the Children/Teenage Ministry Union is to unite children and teenage ministers of the Baptist Churches of Russia involved in Sunday schools, camps, playground outreaches, orphanage ministry, teenage clubs for mutual learning, communication, exchange of experience, and support. For this, online seminars are held monthly, as well as offsite conferences, such as in Obninsk at the end of February.

Thanks be to God for the opportunity to be useful to each other to further His kingdom!
