Evangelism Events in the Stavropol Region

Spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ is a task that was the focus of the April outreach events in the Stavropol Territory (South Russia/North Caucasus) called “A Life Filled with the Gospel.”

On April 3, at the regional meeting of pastors in the town of “Mineral Water”, they recalled the story of the prophet Jonah. “The Lord wants His messengers to preach exactly what He says and exactly where He instructs,” said Pastor Kislitsyn of Pyatigorsk. The members of the missionary committee of the region outlined the tasks of spreading the Gospel in those areas of the region where there are no evangelical communities yet, called to pray for specific peoples of the region every month. Those on the missionary committee include brothers from the churches of the region.

On April 8, everyone from the Gypsy people (from Romania) could hear the Gospel at a special gathering in Zelenokumsk, timed to coincide with the International Day of Gypsys. This event once again shows a special interest in the biblical account of Jesus Christ. Those who have already believed are actively sharing the Gospel among their native people.

On April 9-11, Aleksey Sinichkin (from St. Petersburg) held a series of seminars in the church of Inozemtsevo on the prominent representatives of the Russian brotherhood of Evangelical Christians Baptists - Delyakov, Prokhanov and Fetler. From their youth, these people have already done great things for God and set an inspiring example for others. Such stories serve as an excellent motivation for young people not to postpone the work of God until later, but to be working in full force right now.

On April 16-17, a motivational training platform was organized in Georgievsk to prepare teams for participation in short-term missions, to support ministers of small churches. The experience of evangelism in the culture of the Caucasus, news, testimonies and prayer needs from different regions of the South of Russia were presented. Successful evangelism is known to involve learning, sharing experiences, and putting the knowledge gained into practice, taking into account the cultural context. These functions are performed by similar sites, which are becoming more frequent.

On April 24, a memorable evangelistic meeting for the nationally Armenian people, was held in the church of Georgievsk.

On April 26, in Zelenokumsk, the final event took place from the series, "Life filled with the Gospel.” The main focus was on the text "I remind you, brethren, the Gospel that I have preached to you, which you have accepted, in which you have been established, and by which you are saved, if you keep what was taught as I preached to you, unless you believe in vain." (1 Cor. 15:1-2). The assembled pastors and preachers took turns considering the terms "preached the gospel," "received," "established," "you are saved," "you hold back." The music group "Brotherly Love" from Pyatigorsk was a special guest of the meeting.

On April 28-29, a group of evangelists from Georgievsk went to Neftekumsk to bring the Word of God to local residents. Most of the passers-by were ready to receive the gospel and talk about the Lord. This represents the residents of Russia, as people are ready to hear and discuss issues of faith in Christ.

It is obvious that today the world is changing faster than ever, epidemics and the development of digital technologies are making their own adjustments to the usual habits of life. Nevertheless, the prophet Isaiah reminds: "Behold, the hand of the Lord was not cut short to save, and His ear was not heavy to hear." (Isaiah 59: 1). Through His faithful disciples, the Lord calls everyone to come to Him in order to already receive His peace and live a life filled with the Gospel.
