Week of Prayer 2022

The year 2021, which in our brotherhood has been called the Year of Evangelism, is coming to an end. We take stock of our ministry and look to the future. Meeting the new year, we pray in a special way, bringing our thanks and requests to our great Lord and Savior!

According to a long standing tradition, our churches unite in prayerful reverence before God during the first week of the new year. We lift up our prayers to Him in a single stream of praise, worship, and present our humble prayer requests. Below, we offer prayer topics for each day January 1-7th of the new year .

This coming year of 2022 will also be called the “Year of Evangelism” in our Baptist Union. This means that evangelism by the forces of our churches needs to be improved and developed. To this end, we wish you a Merry Christmas, which brings the Good News to our world, and a Happy New Year!

  • January 1

Gratitude for Jesus Christ coming into our world, for His miraculous birth, for the saving news, for God's manifested love for all mankind (John 3:16; Luke 2:10).

Pray for the spread of the Good News throughout the world, for our participation in the fulfillment of the great commission of Jesus Christ - to carry the Gospel to the ends of the earth (John 12:32; Luke 24:47; Mark 16:15).

  • January 2

Gratitude for the relative availability of Bibles, New Testaments and spiritual literature in our country for all people (Is. 55:1; Luke 11:28).

Pray for the thirst of the people to hear the Word of God, that He would prepare good soil in the hearts of people for receiving God's Word (Matt  5:6; Jn. 7:37; Am. 8:11).

  • January 3

Gratitude for personal salvation, for being called into service for Christ. (John 15:16; 2  Thess. 2:13).

Pray for personal evangelism, so that the Lord would inspire each member of the church to evangelize and equip them with everything necessary (1 Cor. 9:16; Eph. 6:15; 2 Tim. 4:5).

  • January 4

Gratitude for the Church that Christ created on earth. For our local church, in which each of us works to build up the Body of Christ (Matt. 16:18; Eph. 1:22-23; Eph. 4:11-12).

Pray for church ministries, for pastors and deacons, for preachers, for all responsible ministers in the church, so that churches would be built in the power of the Holy Spirit and the saved ones would be added to the Church and grow (Acts 14:23; 20:28; 1 Pet. 2:5; Romans 12:4-11).

  • January 5

Gratitude for the numerous graces of God during times of illness and various upheavals. For the safety of our churches and the opportunity to perform church services during a pandemic (Rom. 8:35-39; Ps. 35:6; Lam. 3:22-23).

Pray for the spiritual state of believers during the difficult world epidemic. For our trust in God and our ability to give comfort to those who mourn. And for the healing of those who are sick (Ps. 22:4; Ps. 26:1; Prov. 12:18; Jam. 5:15-16; Phil. 2:4).

  • January 6

Gratitude for peace in our country. For food and shelter. For the opportunity to have prayer houses and freely gather in them (Ps. 8:2; Ps. 83:2; Ps. 121:1).

Pray for the President and government of our country, so they would be under the guidance of God in their decisions. For the preservation of peace in our country and for peace in other countries. For opening new doors for evangelism and spiritual enlightenment in our country. For building good relationship between the state and church (1 Tim. 2:2; 1 Pet. 2:17; Col. 4:7).

  • January 7

Gratitude for the day of salvation and an optimistic time for being reconciled to God . For the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who was born of the virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit, died for our sins and rose again. For God 's wonderful promises to His people, for the gift of eternal life (2 Cor. 6:2; Gal. 1:4; Matt. 1:21; Eph. 2:5-7).

Pray for the readiness of the Church to meet the Lord. For our love for God and our lives devoted to Him. For the glory of God on earth (Matt. 25:13; Heb. 12:1, 15; Rev. 3:2).
