UECB Year of Rebuilding

We all do many things in life. Every action has a reason and consequence. The outcomes of a person's actions will be judged. Jesus also said: “By their fruits you will know them” (Matt. 7:20), and again: “For we must all appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ, so that each one may receive, according to what he did while living in the body, whether good or bad" (2 Cor. 5:10).

The Apostle Paul compares our life with building a house. We are the builders, that is, our life should be filled with constructive actions, by which the surroundings are improved and the person himself is spiritually enriched.

God is the maker and creator of all living things. He loves his creation, sustaining and controlling our physical world. He is also the creator of the spiritual world, with special love he builds his Church and prepares for her his Heavenly Kingdom. His creative building work continues and has never stopped. Christ, being on earth, gathered around him a group of people and called them his disciples. He taught them to do what He did. And His life was the fulfillment of an important mission, to save perishing human souls and build His glorious Church. This Church will be the embodiment of His glory, perfect love and the adornment of the universe. And Christ calls his disciples to this work of building and recreating, to the building of the church, to the building of peaceful relations between people, to the building of a healthy lifestyle and much more. When our life is built on these principles, we will experience a sense of satisfaction and joy even in the face of fatigue.

The year 2023 in the Russian UECB is called the year of rebuilding. Let's try to make it that way. Let's support each other, pray for each other. Let us apply our strength to the building of a healthy church, a healthy brotherhood. We are called to be peacemakers. This is very relevant at the moment. Against the backdrop of ongoing strife and hostility, the mission of peacekeeping is becoming most important, relevant and necessary. May the Lord help us build peace.

"This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful" (1 Cor. 4:1-2).
