Christians and singleness - Loneliness is an incompatible concept

An interchurch gathering for singles took place at the Salvation Church in Nakhabino (Moscow suburbs), on March 8, which is sometimes especially difficult for unmarried sisters. This was another gift from the Lord, and the beautiful marshmallow roses from the brothers made it a real holiday.

Get close to Him and you will be at peace; through this, good will come to you.

Job 22:21

Such meetings are very rare. The previous one in our Baptist association of ABC churches took place about 10 years ago. “Because, it is true, that with the Lord we are never alone. A Christian and loneliness are incompatible concepts,” said Pavel Rumachik, pastor of the Salvation Church.

About 70 people came from Moscow, Lyubertsy, Ruza, Istra, Saltykovka, Balashikha to be saturated with the Word of God and be strengthened in one Spirit, to understand why a Christian sometimes feels lonely, and to get to know each other. The latter has become especially relevant for young brothers and sisters who have not found their other half. Also, how important to dedicate your life to the service of Christ.

- Every person has the choice whether to have a family or not. We must pray for God's will. I never had a family and never regretted it. I dedicated my life to Christ and for me, He is my treasure. We need to get closer to the Lord. If there is a problem, then marriage is necessary! - said the pastor of the church in Dedovsk Smirnov.

In various seminars, the question was considered, “Why does a person feel lonely?” The popular opinion of our society is imposed on us. Even at the doctor's, unmarried people are made to understand that this is an "anomaly". Another reason is the frequent inability to communicate due to social networks. And sometimes it is forgotten that the Lord did not create us so that everyone would have their own family "... everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory, formed and arranged." Isaiah 43:7

Non-family people are rich in time and energy for the church, they may well influence the development of church culture. These are prayers, the study of the Word of God, Sunday schools, worship , visiting the sick, helping those with many children. Freed from family life, musicians, artists, poets can direct their knowledge and strength to glorify the Lord, nurture the youth. While there is no family, we learn to be non-family. What gift we have, we serve the Lord with it. Personal life must be filled with lively communication and relationships: "... a friend is sweet to everyone with his heartfelt advice." Proverbs 27:9

Only God can deliver from such a state of mind as loneliness. “Thoughts in a man’s heart are deep waters, but a wise man draws them out.” Proverbs 20:5 We pray to rejoice in the Lord every day. The Lord changes our consciousness, because "He created the hearts of all of them and looks into all their deeds." Psalm 32:15

Being in a non-family position, Christians should especially remember what not to do: fornicate, attend ambiguous worldly events. Even excessive guardianship towards other singles can be a temptation ... Sisters must monitor their appearance so as not to be like a “bright light bulb” that signals intentions.

Pavel Rumachik answered questions, and consolation came, as always, from the Word of God: “I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

Instructing the brothers and sisters, the pastor added: “We must think about what is pure and glorious. We must all trust God! We must work for His Glory. Remember that in heaven they do not marry and do not marry. There are brothers who do not marry, but build the church, the Apostle Paul himself was not a family man. A sister just needs to work for God and remember that they do not live to be beautiful, but virtuous. Do not worry, live in Love for God!”
