"We Preach Christ"

Peace be with you, dear brothers and sisters!

The Apostle Paul in his First Epistle to the Corinthian Church writes: “For both the Jews demand miracles, and the Greeks seek wisdom; But we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews, and foolishness to the Greeks, but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks, Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (1 Cor. 1:22-24)

All Christian denominations are united by faith in the Lord and the Holy Scriptures. Evangelical Baptist Christians (ECB) are part of the larger evangelical movement, doing the work of evangelism about JESUS CHRIST. After the Russian Bible Society translated the Bible into understandable Russian in the 19th century, a spiritual awakening began in Russia. Many young people became booksellers. They went through the villages and towns of our large country and spread the Gospel. They had a great desire for every family to have a Bible or a New Testament. As a result of reading God's Word, small bible study groups appeared in many villages, from which churches of evangelical Christian Baptists arose.

Who are Baptists? The Greek word "baptist" means baptism. Those who believed in Jesus Christ were baptized and called themselves evangelical Christian Baptists, emphasizing that they were baptized by faith. After the abolition of serfdom in Russia, local ECB churches began to appear. 140 years ago, a union of Evangelical Christian Baptists was formed in our country.

Evangelical Baptist Christians are known for their high moral principles: many of them have large families, they do not drink alcohol or tobacco, and they are hardworking and law-abiding citizens who strive to live the Gospel.

Our desire and prayer is that every Russian would hear about the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in Him as their personal Savior.

If you do not have the Gospel, please write to us or visit your local ECB congregation where you can receive God's Word. Also listen to Bible sermons.

1 Corinthians 1:23, 18 “... but we preach Christ... For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

With prayers for you, brother Peter Mickiewicz
