“Hope Church” in Tver Celebrates 140 Years

All events took place in the prayer house of this church, while it is at the final stage of reconstruction, the main hall is already fully prepared for holding special events.

On November 3, everyone who came to the festive event was able to get acquainted with the history of the church. A detailed report on the origin and development of the evangelical movement in the Tver region was made by Tatyana Kirillovna Nikolskaya, a famous historian from St. Petersburg.

On November 4, the classical music concert “Great Mysteries of Music” took place in a crowded hall. The concert was attended by laureates of international competitions, soloists of the “More Music” project from Moscow: Andrey Burkov (viola), Anna Ustyuzhanina (cello). The works performed were Bach, G.F. Handel, L. Madonis, A. Vivaldi.

On November 5, the Sunday worship service was held, with UECB VP Viktor Ignatenkov participating, but led by pastor Igor Tkachuk. Visiting guests from other cities including Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod regions, St. Petersburg and many other regions. There was a rich varied musical program in which, along with adults, children took part. Messages from Ignatenkov, senior pastor Sergei Volkov and regional pastor Igor Kudryashov blessed the congregation with words of hope, faithfulness and determination to continue to work hard to serve the Lord in this church, region and land of Russia for a spiritual awakening.

After the service, a lunch for everyone took place, after which the program continued - all guests were able to give congratulatory speeches and some inspiring poems.

Congregational prayer over the health and continued blessing of God toward the pastors, servants and ministry of Hope Church was given to conclude this wonderful, God-honoring event.

Glory to God for this long period of God’s faithfulness to the UECB Church in Tver. 140 years is quite a feat to celebrate!
