Prayer Appeal for protection of the church in Novocherkassk - from Russian UECB President Peter Mitskevich

The court adopted a ruling banning the activities of the local religious organization Church of Evangelical Christian Baptists in Novocherkassk, Rostov region, located at the address 159 Mikhailovskaya St., Novocherkassk, Russia

"Pray without ceasing" - 1 Thessalonians 5:17

DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS! PEACE TO YOU!

I convey greetings from the churches of the Russian Union of Evangelical Christian Baptists!

Thank God for the opportunities we have to preach Christ and His good news about the Savior. There comes a period of prayerful preparation for Easter, when there is an opportunity to re-read the Gospel and devote more time to prayer.

I urge you, dear brothers and sisters, to pray for God’s mercy and protection for the church in the city of Novocherkassk, Rostov region. The pastor of the church, Vladimir Romanenko, turned to me and shared his prayer request, so I want to encourage all of us to pray for the church in Novocherkassk.

“For the church, it was a complete surprise when the bailiffs came with a resolution to ban the activities of the church and that the court satisfied the prosecutor’s claim and adopted a Resolution to ban the activities of the church dated March 1, 2024. After the inspection, the Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a notice to correct the fire alarm, which was done on time.

On March 15, 2024, the police brought an Official signed warning about banning public events (services). All this violates the rights of believers, according to the Constitution and the Law on Freedom of Conscience!”

Believers are confused. On March 21, the next court hearing regarding the church is expected, and I hope that the believers of the UECB church will be able to freely pray in the church building - the house of prayer, as it was before. PLEASE PRAY FOR US.

Let us pray for peace in the hearts of people, for peace in families, for peace between nations and for the ministry of local churches. Let us pray for Pastor Vladimir Romanenko and for the members of their church. Let the WILL OF GOD be done in our lives, But let us petition Him and follow Him faithfully.

God bless you,

Peter Mitskevich, UECB President
