National Prayer Breakfast 2024

On November 19, 2024, the National Spiritual Prayer Breakfast (NSPB) was held at Moscow’s Hyatt Regency Hotel in conjunction with all Christian denominations of Russia.

Organized by the Foundation for Promotion of Spiritual Revival and Spiritual Culture (FPSRSC), established by the Evangelical Unions of Russia, about 450 people took part in this event: Russian and foreign political, public, cultural, religious figures, diplomats, businessmen and representatives of various branches of government, including current parliamentarians from the BRICS countries.

The Russian UECB was represented by President Peter Mitskevich and VP Viktor Ignatenkov.

The theme this year was “Christian spiritual values ​​in the family and society.” In the context of global issues which threaten traditional spiritual and moral values, it is important to consolidate the efforts of religious and public organizations, government officials and businesses to preserve the institution of the family.

The event was opened by the President of the FPSRSC, Andrey Gaidamaka, who presented the breakfast as a platform for interaction between religion, government and business.

After the main event, thematic sections were held. The speakers were specialists and professionals in each area.

The section “Family Values: Practice of Application at Different Stages of Family Life” was devoted to successful practices of value-oriented pro-family initiatives and the transfer of creative family culture at different stages of family planning and existence in a person’s life.

The section “Moral Consensus as the Basis of International Diplomacy” drew the attention of society to the most important issues of our time and proposed popular solutions.

The section “Creative Entrepreneurship as Service” reflected the trend: spiritual meaning is an integral part of professional activity aimed at creating Russian society.

The section “The Present and Future of Social Service: Uniting for Building up” initiated a dialogue between social service carried out by religious organizations and charity work carried out by professional non-profit and humanitarian organizations in Russia and around the world.

At the section “The Role of Education in Fostering Traditional Family Values ​​Among Students,” participants exchanged experiences between higher education institutions in developing traditional family values ​​among students.

The section "Promotion of spiritual and moral values ​​through the media: concept and implementation" became a platform where representatives of religious organizations working in the media discussed the possibility of combining efforts to create and distribute value-oriented content, which is due to society's demand for spiritual and moral values. Also within the framework of the section, an agreement on information partnership was signed between the NSPB and the Good News TV Channel.

The NSPB ended with the "Most Christmassy Concert" performed by the Lutheran Church Annenkirche. The program combined classical music, bright media projections and a story about the birth of the Baby Jesus and the traditions of the celebration.

The NSPB Foundation has big plans for work until the next November meeting. In the spring of 2025, events will be held to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, telling about the labor feat of the people.

The next NSPB will take place on November 11, 2025.
