There are six Evangelical Christian Baptist churches and two small groups in the Pskov region. The ministers of the region gathered at the "Source of Life" church, in the city of Pskov. During the conference, issues related to the practice of pastoral ministry were discussed: the spiritual qualities of a pastor, the organization of church life, types of church services, the involvement of all believers in active work/participation and other issues, on which evangelism and growth of the church depend. The speakers were Viktor Ignatenkov, Viktor Avdeev, and Aleksander Khubeev, the UECB regional pastor of the Pskov region. The conference turned out to be very meaningful and inspiring as the participants renewed their vision with new ideas and expanded the opportunities to achieve the necessary goals in ministry.
On Sunday, January 26, Viktor and Alexander took part in the services of two Pskov Baptist churches. The Church "Source of Life," a young Pskov church, formed in 2015 and numbering about 50 members and has its own prayer house led by pastor Khubeev. The Pskov Central Church of the Evangelical Christian Baptists, was founded in 1887. Today it has 100 members. The pastoral ministry here is currently carried out by Yuri Alekseev.
Ignatenkov delivered edifying sermons at both services, after which he held a separate meeting with church ministers to inform about Baptist Union issues, field questions and offer solutions to their regional needs. Traditionally, during such trips, the leaders of the Russian UECB answer numerous questions from local Christians about the ministry of the union, about the life of churches in other regions, about the practice of church ministry and Christian life. The churches are always sincerely grateful for the attention and support from the Russian Baptist Union. Praise God for this opportunity of ministry.
