Epiphany Evenings 2025, St. Petersburg

In January 2025, the twentieth festival called "Epiphany Evenings" took place. It was held at two venues in St. Petersburg: in the Cathedral of St. Mary and in the Great Hall of St. Petersburg State University of Art.

One of the evenings was dedicated to choral acapella music. Choirs from the city of St. Petersburg and the region participated in it. One evening, the voices of 240 saints echoed gloriously throughout the vaulted ceilings of the church. Under the direction of the conductor, believers sang psalms to the music of gospel composers.

The great value and significance of this event for the city listener is that all the participants of the choral evening are people who sincerely believe in what they sing. The choirs sang a variety of psalms and put their whole souls into this performance, sharing their faith!

Preparations for the choral evening took a year and required a lot of trust in God, prayers, strength, time, and unity from different churches of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

The second evening, for children and youth, was held by groups from St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region, as well as Moscow and Slavyansk-on-Kuban. Children and teenagers gathered together for the first time, joyfully and sincerely praising God. There was not a single unaffected person that evening, and those who came, listened to the end, opened their hearts to the Lord and joined in praise.

The third evening was held at St. Petersburg State University of Art with the participation of the hand bell ensemble "Elegance" under the direction of Vladimir Kashalaba; with sand animation. The musical performance with a visual series of sand paintings told the audience about the fourth magus, his path in search of Christ. The amazing and heavenly sound of the bells lifted both souls and hearts, because each strike of the bell is a call and singing of angels.

Each concert was sold out as spectators came from different parts of the city and the region with the desire to listen to Christian music. The festival was wonderful and gave the guests many memorable and heartfelt moments. Praise God for these kinds of opportunities to share and enjoy Christ.
