"Your Name is Unknown, Your Sacrifice is Immortal"

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier took place in Moscow.

The federal charity project "Lights of Victory" brought together members of the legislative assembly, representatives of the Moscow government, military officers, participants of the Special Military Operation, members of the Youth Army, Victory volunteers, and other honored guests at the Alexander Garden near the Kremlin walls.

Together, they honored the memory of those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our homeland in the struggle against fascism during the Great Patriotic War. The gathered bowed their heads in a moment of silence before the Eternal Flame, laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and then paid tribute at the memorials of the Hero Cities.

Among the distinguished participants was pastor Vladislav Vovk, advisor to the chairman of the Russian Union of Evangelical Christian-Baptists, who joined in this act of remembrance. The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the enduring legacy of those who sacrificed everything—known and unknown—so that future generations might live in peace.

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13)

Their names may be lost to history, but their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
