In addition to St. Petersburg, the conference also brought together ministers from Sosnovo, Volkhov, Volosovo, Sosnovy Bor, Murino, Peterhof, Kolpino, and Pavlovsk. But this time, when planning the event, the organizers decided to expand its geographic reach. Ministers from Murmansk, Veliky Novgorod, Karelia, and Syktyvkar also attended. A total of 96 children's ministers attended.
Pastors Alexander Danilenko and Roman Tishko inspired conference participants with their edifying sermons. They focused their attention on the privilege of serving children and encouraged them by recalling the history of the Sunday school movement.
There was time spent in praying for the children of Russia, for ministry in Sunday schools, summer events, and orphanages and shelters. They also prayed for their own hearts, asking the Lord to help them see obstacles in their ministry and ways to overcome them.
The conference included seminars led by Andrey Pilipenko, Natalia Beleva, and Olga Mitskevich.
Andrey inspired the use of various teaching methods to make lessons varied and engaging, drawing in children to the learning process. Andrey answered questions, and reviewed teaching methods and techniques.
Natalia showed teachers how not to merely conduct lessons, but also how to respond to questions and needs of children and adolescents from a biblical perspective.
Olga vividly, creatively, and clearly demonstrated the limitless number of methods that can be used in the classroom. Conference participants were able to attend several lessons using various methods. Everyone was grateful for her visual aid!
All those who attended the conference were encouraged and inspired. They expressed hope that such conferences will be more frequent and unite children's ministries in the Northwest region.
